Toni Vilander and Miguel Molina will defend their Blancpain GT World Challenge America title, having been confirmed in R. Ferri Motorsport’s Ferrari 488 GT3 for the 2019 season.

The Toronto-based team announced its return to SRO Motorsports America competition on Wednesday, in a largely unchanged effort from its SprintX championship-winning operation last year.

Vilander and Molina combined for six wins out of ten races last year, which also helped take the Finn to the overall GT3 championship.

The pair of Ferrari factory drivers will again team up for the title run in the new-look championship, which features a pair of 90-minute races on seven race weekends.

“We are excited to be back again this year in the World Challenge with a proven driver lineup that has had a lot of success with our team,” team principal Remo Ferri said.

“With the continued support from the factory coupled with the experience we gained from previous years, I feel confident that we can once again compete for a chance at the championship.”

Upwards of 20 GT3 cars are expected for next weekend’s season-opening round at Circuit of The Americas.
