Herberth Motorsport topped the timesheets on Tuesday after eight hours of running in the official test day for the Total 24 Hours of Spa.

The German team’s No. 991 Porsche 911 GT3 R, running in the Am Cup, lapped the Belgian circuit in 2:19.833 during the afternoon session to finish the day as the fastest Blancpain GT Series competitor.

Edward Lewis Brauner, Juergen Haering, Wolfgang Triller and Alfred Renauer will share driving duties in the car during the race on July 28-29.

The time beat the No. 2 Audi Sport Team WRT car which had gone quickest in the morning with a time of 2:19.999, just under a quarter of a second quicker than the Team75 Bernhard Porsche.

GT Sport Motul Team RJN was the second fastest team of the day with a time just 0.055 seconds off the pace in the afternoon session from the 2018-spec Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3.

The morning session was halted several times for cars going off track although the afternoon’s five-hour session was largely incident-free.

British GT team Optimum Racing actually set the best time of the day but won’t be competing in the 24-hour race.

Jonny Adam and Flick Haigh tested the team’s Aston Martin Vantage GT3 in preparation for the upcoming British GT race at the circuit.
