The Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 will make its British GT Championship return in next month’s season finale at Donington Park, with JRM fielding a car for two GT3 debutants.

It will mark the first time the GT3-spec Nissan has competed in the series since 2014, although RJN Motorsport currently runs a pair of Nissan 370Z GT4s in the series.

Nissan GT4 regular Charlie Fagg and Ginetta GT4 SuperCup driver Ben Green will pilot the car in both of their GT3 debuts.

Fagg recently scored a double British GT GT4 class win at Spa in the Ebor GT Maserati GT MC GT4.

While JRM stepped back from full-time competition at the end of 2014, the team has remained involved in Nissan’s GT program by providing engineers and parts to customer teams.

“Getting back on the track with a newly built GT-R NISMO GT3 specification Nissan, driven by a new, young and talented team is what we have been waiting for.” JRM managing director Jason King said.

“The past few years JRM has focused on our applied engineering and assembly manufacturing, working with major OEMs and clients around the world.

“The time was right to unleash the team and set the challenge to get back on the track with a car, garage support and drivers that we feel has serious podium potential.

“I look forward to great successes over the coming races, under the careful watch of Elliot Dason-Barber, our technical director.”

It is understood that additional GT3 entries could be on the grid at Donington, with both Century Motorsport and Mike Brown Racing evaluating returns for the season finale.
