Dani Juncadella and Oliver Morley have been stripped of their British GT podium finish at Spa-Francorchamps on Saturday, after crossing the line third for Black Falcon.

The pair drove the No. 57 Mercedes-AMG GT3 in the German squad’s one-off entry into the British series, in preparation for its attack on the Total 24 Hours of Spa and the end of the month.

Juncadella had an impressive final stint, passing several competitors and series regulars to move up to third position and ultimately finish just 4.887 seconds down on Jon Barnes and Mark Farmer’s winning TF Sport Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3.

However, it was found after the race that the Mercedes had overtaken under yellow flags, and so it was awarded a 30-second time penalty.

As a result, Juncadella and Morley lose a position and sit in fourth on the final results.

The car that has now taken third position is in fact the other Black Falcon car. Abdulaziz Al Faisal and Miguel Toril had finished 33 seconds off the winner, but now complete the podium in their No. 58 Mercedes.

The Nos. 19 and 73 cars were also given similar penalties but their positions have not changed.

The entries in question are the Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini Huracan GT3, in 11th position, and the Century Motorsport Ginetta G55 GT4, ninth in GT4 and seventh amongst the British GT4 runners.
