Jeff Burton claimed his first overall GT America powered by AWS victory following a hard-fought battle in Sunday’s round at Watkins Glen International.

Burton took his No. 191 Rearden Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo to a 16.968-second win over the No. 460 Flying Lizard Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R of Andy Wilzoch, who was provisionally classified second.

It came after a late-race clash between Wilzoch and the championship-leading No. 45 Wright Motorsports Porsche of Charlie Luck while battling for second that sent the Race 1 winner to the pit lane with damage.

While having converted his pole into an early race lead, Burton got around Luck for the lead on Lap 7 and extended his margin through the end of the race.

The No. 90 TR3 Racing Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo of Caesar Bacarella was classified third overall in the invitational class.

Zelus Motorsports’ Jason Harward rebounded to finish fourth outright and third among the GT3 entrants after making an unscheduled stop for a left-front puncture to his Lamborghini.

While having finished second on the road on Saturday but elevated to the class win post-race, Jason Bell earned a convincing flag-to-flag victory in Race 2 in his GMG Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT4.

Bell finished 7.928 seconds ahead of the No. 50 3R Povoledo Racing Aston of Ross Chouest to complete a weekend sweep.

The No. 79 RENNtech Mercedes-AMG GT4 of Christopher Gumprecht completed the class podium after Saturday’s race contender Gray Newell dropped out on the opening lap with a reported misfire in his The Heart of Racing Aston Martin.
