Memo Gidley will be looking to continue his winning ways as GT America powered by AWS visits Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta this weekend for the seventh and eighth rounds of the season.

A total of 17 cars are on the pre-event entry list, which sees the notable returns of both Joel Cortes (RS1 Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo) and CJ Moses (Random Vandals Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo) after both missing the most recent event at Sebring International Raceway.

The driver of the No. 56 SKI Autosports Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II took his fifth victory of the season at Sebring, although lost out to HP-TECH Motorsport’s Tony Davis in Race 1, who broke through for his first career win in SRO3.

Gidley, however, still holds a commanding lead in the standings, 61 points ahead of Davis, with Kyle Washington third in his GMG Racing Porsche.

Ross Chouest, who currently sits fourth in the title chase, is set to drop down the order with the Chouest Povoledo Racing driver skipping this weekend’s action as it falls on the due date for the birth of his and his wife’s third daughter.

The No. 70 Mishumotors Callaway Corvette C7 GT3-R of Mirco Schultis is also not entered for Road Atlanta, while the team that will run Lawrence Tomlinson’s Ginetta G56 GT2 has yet to be announced.

Tomlinson entrusted Dollahite Racing to run his GT2 car at Sebring.

The Cup class will be back to only a single Ginetta GTP8 with full season driver David Lecko, after Corey Deeds made a one-off start at Sebring with the model.

GT4 again sees a two-way fight with Jason Bell’s Racers Edge Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage GT4 Evo and the Craig Lumsden-driven Colorado Motorsport with Flying Lizard BMW M4 GT4 EVO.

GT America competitors first take to the track on Friday afternoon with a pair of practice sessions, followed by qualifying on Saturday morning.

Race 1 is set for Saturday at 3:30 p.m. EST, with Race 2 on Sunday at 12:15 p.m. EST, with both 40-minute sprints to be streamed live on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel.
