Charlie Luck scored overall victory in Saturday’s GT America powered by AWS race at Watkins Glen International with a dominant run in his No. 45 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R.

Luck drove to a 0.415-second win over the No. 191 Rearden Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo of Jeff Burton following a late-race yellow and restart with 3 minutes and 30 seconds remaining.

He held a 10-plus second lead prior to the yellow.

The 40-minute race ran relatively uneventful until contact between the No. 99 Rotek Racing Ford Mustang GT4 of Robb Holland and Sean Quinlan’s No. 119 Stephen Cameron Racing BMW M4 GT4 resulted in a heavy crash for GT4 class championship leader Quinlan with 15 minutes to go.

It set up a two-lap shootout to the finish, with no positions changing in the GT3 class.

Jason Harward finished third overall in the No. 88 Zelus Motorsport Lamborghini followed by the No. 460 Flying Lizard Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R of Andy Wilzoch, who fought with Harward until the closing stages.

Ross Chouest crossed the line first to provisionally claim GT4 class honors in his No. 50 3R Povoledo Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT4.

It came after a late-race move around the No. 2 GMG Racing Aston of Jason Bell, who held a five-second lead prior to the yellow. The timing of the move is in question.

Gray Newell captured his first solo race podium in the The Heart of Racing entry, which made it an Aston Martin 1-2-3 sweep in class.

The top three finishing cars benefitted by the lack of a wave-by from race control on the final restart, which gave the Astons nearly a lap advantage over its competitors.

Race 2 is scheduled for Sunday at 9 a.m. ET with live coverage on SRO’s GT World YouTube page.
