Pirelli GT4 America Sprint and SprintX competitors are set for their first triple-header weekend of the season, with six GT4 America races scheduled at Virginia International Raceway.

SRO America’s season restart will be a busy one for teams and drivers competing in both series, with makeup races for the canceled events at St. Petersburg (Sprint) and Long Beach (SpirntX) coming in addition to the previously scheduled double headers at the 3.27-mile circuit.

A total of 15 cars are entered for GT4 Sprint, with 20 entries for the SprintX races this weekend.

Unlike GT World Challenge America powered by AWS, which has seen a significant drop in entries since the season-opener at Circuit of The Americas in March, there has been no change to the number of Sprint entries, while SprintX is down from 26 cars.

Among the notable teams not present this weekend are Murillo Racing and Compass Racing, although it’s understood neither were full-season entrants.

Precision Driving Tech is also absent from the GT4 Sprint entry list, along with longtime series entrant Tony Gaples, who is missing the weekend due to undergoing emergency eye surgery last week.

At least six drivers and five teams are set to take part in all six GT4 races this weekend – GMG Racing’s Jason Bell, Andretti Autosport and Jarett Andretti, Micheal Dinan of Flying Lizard Motorports, Stephen Cameron Racing’s Sean Quinlan and Jeff Burton at Rearden Racing – as well as Michael Cooper, who is entered in McLaren 570S GT4s from both the Blackdog Speed Shop (Sprint) and Flying Lizard (SprintX).

Several cars, however, are entered only for the makeup races, including the No. 69 BGB Motorsports Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 of Tom Collingwood (Sprint).

Track action kicks off on Wednesday with three 60-minute test sessions, followed by two practice sessions on Thursday and qualifying and Race 1 for both series on Friday (Sprint, 12:40 p.m. ET; SprintX 4:10 p.m. ET).

The second and third races of the event will be held on Saturday and Sunday with live streaming available on SRO’s GT World YouTube page and the GT4 America website.
