RENNtech Motorsports has confirmed a full season Pirelli GT4 America effort with a Mercedes-AMG GT4 for drivers Tommy Johnson and Michael Auriemma.

The Florida-based team, run by Hartmut Feyhl, will continue its alliance in SRO America competition but with a new lineup for the 2023 season.

Auriemma, a three-time Nürburgring 24 starter who also made a pair of appearances in the Rolex 24 at Daytona, also holds experience in Skip Barber Racing and SCCA competition.

Johnson, the son of longtime IMSA competitor Tommy Johnson Sr., has most recently contested multiple seasons in the Russian touring car championship.

The duo will compete in the Am class.

“With Michael and Tommy we have two drivers in our team that are eager for success,” said Feyhl.

“Combining that with our passion for racing, fighting for podium is the definitive goal.

“”Even though we have a team that has worked together for multiple years, integrating two new drivers will require a learning curve. However, we are confident that we will be able to fight for podiums from the first race in Sonoma.”

The team will be taking part in this week’s official pre-season test at NOLA Motorsports Park.
