Stephens Leads First Road America Practice

Michai Stephens led the way in the opening Pirelli GT4 America practice session of the weekend at Road America for Conquest Racing/JMF Motorsport.

Stephens in the No. 34 Mercedes-AMG GT4 recorded a best time of 2:15.229 in the 45-minute session, outpacing the No. 51 Auto Technic Racing BMW M4 GT4 of Zac Anderson by 0.325 seconds.

Anderson is driving solo this weekend due to an injury from his regular co-driver John Capestro-Dubets.

Roman De Angelis recorded the third quickest time in the session, leading the way in Pro-Am in his No. 24 The Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT4, which sustained a spin into the gravel at the Carousel by co-driver Gray Newell to bring out the session’s only red flag.

The No. 7 ACI Motorsports Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport of Kay van Berlo and the No. 8 Flying Lizard Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage GT4 of Andy Lee completing the top-five overall.

Terry Borcheller led the way in the Am class with the sixth quickest time overall in the No. 20 Carrus Callas Raceteam Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO.

Practice 2 is scheduled to get underway at 5:15 p.m. CDT.
