Thompson Sets the Pace in Practice 2 at Road America

Parker Thompson was quickest in the second and final Pirelli GT4 America practice session prior to qualifying at Road America.

Thompson, in the No. 999 Hanley Motorsports Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO, laid down a fast lap of 2:15.158 in the 60-minute session, which was interrupted for a heavy accident in the Kink by the No. 47 Nolasport Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport of Jason Hart.

Hart climbed from his car under his own power although the Pro-Am class entry sustained extensive damage.

Track action resumed with less than 20 minutes left on the clock, which saw several improvements including a 2:15.196 lap time by Tyler McQuarrie in the No. 82 BimmerWorld BMW M4 GT4 that ended the session second quickest.

Late improvements from Kay van Berlo and Kenton Koch saw the No. 7 ACI Motorsports Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport and No. 92 Random Vandals Racing BMW improve to third and fifth, respectively.

Tom Dyer in the No. 13 GMG Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT4 was fourth overall, third in the Pro-Am class.

Terry Borcheller was again quickest in Am in his Carrus Callas Raceteam Toyota, which was the 13th quickest overall.

The session ended early when the No. 67 Smooge Racing Toyota of Joey DaSilva stopped at Canada Corner with less than five minutes left on the clock.

Qualifying is on tap for Saturday at 10:25 a.m. CDT.
