The No. 04 DXDT Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo has been withdrawn from this weekend’s Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS and GT America powered by AWS races following an accident by George Kurtz.

Kurtz lost control of the CrowdStrike-sponsored Mercedes at The Kink in Friday’s GTWC America opening practice, sustaining heavy front-end damage.

It came after he set the quickest time in GT America Practice 1, in a separate Mercedes chassis.

While having been transported to a local hospital for further evaluation per a SRO spokesperson, a DXDT spokesperson confirmed he’s now headed home for the weekend.

It will result in a reduced 15-car field for the pair of GTWC America races after the No. 70 Inception Racing McLaren 720S GT3 was a no-show.

Colin Braun, who topped the time charts in Practice 1, was due to share the wheel with Kurtz in the pair of 90-minute GTWC America races at the four-mile circuit.
