The No. 68 Smooge Racing Toyota GR Supra GT4 has been stripped of its GT4 class pole for today’s Indianapolis 8 Hour presented by AWS.

In a decision communicated less than 50 minutes from the green flag, the Kevin Conway, John Geesbreght and Jack Hawksworth-driven entry will start from the rear of the 14-car class field.

A Toyota spokesperson confirmed that it was a “minor issue” with the boost controls during qualifying, leading to an overboost.

It has given the No. 2 GMG Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT4 of Jason Bell, Andrew Davis and Trent Hindman the pole in class heading into the 10 a.m. ET start.
