Ford Confirms Miedecke/MPC Mustang GT3 EVO for Suzuka

Ford Racing has confirmed it will be represented in next month’s Suzuka 1000km round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge by an entry involving Australian squads Miedecke Motorsport and Melbourne Performance Centre.

As previously reported by Sportscar365, the two organizations will work together to field a single example of the Ford Mustang GT3 EVO on Sept. 11-13 as part of the Blue Oval’s commitment to have representation in all IGTC rounds this year.

The Pro class entry will be shared by Christopher Mies, Dennis Olsen and Frederic Vervisch, the same combination of drivers that delivered the Mustang GT3 its first victory in the Rolex 24 at Daytona in 2025.

It is set to mark only the third outing for Ford’s GT3 program on Japanese soil, and its first outside of the FIA World Endurance Championship’s 6 Hours of Fuji.

Miedecke Motorsport, the official Australian parts agent and supplier for the GT3 and GT4-spec Mustangs, currently competes in Monochrome GT4 Australia series, while MPC is best known for its long-time association with Audi for its campaigns in the GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS and Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour.

Miedecke Motorsport CEO Andrew Miedecke said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for an all-Australian effort to compete in one of the world’s great sports car races.

“We all feel very grateful to be entrusted by Ford to field their official factory entry at Suzuka. The lineup of drivers is terrific too. Ford goes racing to win, and that’s our intention.”

MPC co-owner Troy Russell added: “This is an exciting project for our team and we are really looking forward to heading to Japan to represent Ford at the Suzuka 1000km.

“We’ve worked closely with Miedecke Motorsport this year, and this deal is an extension of the partnership that has worked really well.

“This is one of the world’s most revered sports car races, and we feel that we have all the right ingredients to give it a real shake.

“Chris and Frederic have raced with our team in the past [in the Bathurst 12H], so we know we have a great roster of drivers and we really can’t wait to get over there.”
