Foster, HubAuto Ferrari Quickest Friday Morning at Suzuka

HubAuto Corsa led the way in the second and final Paid Practice session at Suzuka, ahead of this weekend’s ten-hour Intercontinental GT Challenge round.

Nick Foster, driving the No. 28 Ferrari 488 GT3, reeled off a best lap of 2:03.525 late in the two-hour session to bump the No. 23 KCMG Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 of Edoardo Liberati from the top of the time sheets.

The No. 17 Team WRT Audi R8 LMS of Sheldon van der Linde, Stuart Leonard and Jake Dennis was third quickest, and best of the IGTC entrants, followed by the No. 88 JLOC Lamborghini Huracan GT3 in fourth.

The all Mercedes-AMG factory-crewed GruppeM entry completed the top-five, ahead of the best of the Porsche 911 GT3 Rs in sixth with Craft-Bamboo Racing.

The session featured a single red flag stoppage but quickly resumed.

Following an overnight typhoon, hot and humid conditions have returned to Suzuka, with no significant rain in the forecast for the remainder of the weekend.

The first official Free Practice gets underway at 1:50 p.m. local time., with a evening session also scheduled today.
