Newly-formed Chinese outfit Phantom Global Racing has announced an entry into the Repco Bathurst 12 Hour with the support of Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific.

The new organisation will enter a solo Porsche 911 GT3 R into the Intercontinental GT Challenge opener on Feb. 16-18 in partnership with Team 75 Motorsport, the squad owned by 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Timo Bernhard.

Driving duties will be shared by Jaxon Evans, Bastian Buus and Joel Eriksson, who will contend for outright honors in the Pro class.

I’m happy to announce that we’ll be taking part in one of the biggest GT3 races, the Bathurst 12 Hour, as our first official race as Phantom Global with the support of Team 75,” said team director Martin Young.

“As a new team, it’s amazing to have the opportunity to take part in the Pro class and I would like to express my appreciation to Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific and Porsche for their trust and support.

“It’s going to be a new track for the team, but with the young talent we have I’m hoping we can be a surprise package and achieve strong results.”

New Zealander Evans has three Bathurst 12H starts under his belt, having finished second in the Pro/Am class in his most recent outing in 2020.

Porsche Supercup champion Buus and Eriksson, a former DTM race winner, will both be making their first Bathurst appearances.
