Sportscar365 is contacting drivers from around the world to ask what they’re doing during the coronavirus pandemic and how they’re coping with the racing downtime.

South African factory Audi Sport driver and 2017 Nurburgring 24 Hours winner Kelvin van der Linde (Twitter/Instagram) tells us his favorite part of the Nurburgring in this edition.

Where are you sitting out the COVID-19 crisis?

I am currently at home in Kempten which is located in the south of Germany near Lake Constance.

What’s your go-to for food when no-one feels like cooking?

I have been abusing the takeaway apps on my phone at the moment and the go-to meal is from a sushi delivery restaurant nearby.

What’ your current favorite Netflix/TV show?

‘Drive to Survive’ season 2 occupied me for a full day but other than that I am mainly watching motorsport related videos on YouTube from the past, loving the old BTCC season reviews from the ’90s.

Do you do sim racing?

I have been super active on sim racing. We just recently started a real drivers-only championship on iRacing featuring 40 of the best drivers in the world all with either factory roles or future ambitions to become professionals.

We stream these events every Monday, Wednesday and Friday on Team Redline’s YouTube channel.

Do you have any pets?

No.

Favorite section of any race track in the world?

Nordschleife – Hohe Acht to Schwalbenschwanz.

The funniest thing you have heard or said over a team radio?

Two nights ago Antonio Felix da Costa asked Lando Norris, who won our Pro drivers race, and his reply was “Fricken Kelvin!”

What’s the one thing you are most looking forward to the first day you return to a race track?

Mainly to be back in the car itself as that’s why we go racing, for the pure driving sensation of it, but with that said, I am also missing a lot of my friends in the paddock and looking forward to catching up with them in person again instead of on Whatsapp.
