Foley, Dinan Win Race 2; Claim SprintX Pro-Am Title

Robby Foley and Michael Dinan have claimed the Pirelli GT4 America SprintX Pro-Am championship for Flying Lizard Motorsports with overall victory in Friday’s season finale at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Dinan took his No. 21 Aston Martin Vantage GT4 to a 0.961-second win over title rival Matt Travis in the No. 47 Nolasport Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport.

The Flying Lizard duo, who claimed their sixth Pro-Am class win of the year, entered the 60-minute race with a five-point deficit to Travis and Nolasport co-driver Jason Hart following an incident-filled Race 1 on Thursday.

Dinan emerged as the overall leader following the mid-race pit stops and held command for the remainder of the race, which featured only a single full-course caution.

Andretti Autosport’s Jarett Andretti and Colin Mullan, meanwhile, claimed the Silver class championship with a third place overall finish in their No. 36 McLaren 570S GT4.

It came despite drama with the car’s left-side door becoming ajar following the pit stop.

Andretti and Mullan entered the title-decider one point behind ST Racing’s Harry Gottsacker and Nick Wittmer, who finished second in class and fourth overall on Friday.

The No. 15 Bsport Aston Martin of Kenton Koch and Bryan Putt completed the top-five overall and third in the Pro-Am class.

Am class honors in the race again went to the No. 46 Nolasport Porsche of David and Russell Walker, who finished XXth overall.

Zac Anderson and Sean Gibbons, who did not take part in this week’s pair of season-ending races, locked up the class title last time out at Circuit of The Americas.
