Myrehn Named New Lead Commentator for SRO America

Ryan Myrehn will move from the pit lane to the booth for SRO America broadcasts, becoming the new lead commentator alongside Calvin Fish, who returns for the 2021 season.

Announced on Wednesday ahead of this weekend’s season-opening race at Sonoma Raceway, veteran NHRA on-air talent Amanda Busick will serve as the new pit lane reporter as part of a shakeup within the broadcast team.

Myrehn, a contributor to Sportscar365 and host of its ‘Double Stint’ Podcast, takes the role of longtime World Challenge commentator Greg Creamer as its play-by-play anchor.

A graduate of DePauw University in communications, Myrehn holds extensive broadcast experience that includes coverage of the NTT IndyCar Series with IndyCar Radio, as well as professional, collegiate and high-school sports.

He joined SRO America as it pit lane reporter in 2018.

Busick, meanwhile, boasts current and previous motorsports experience in NHRA, the ABB FIA Formula E Championship and co-host and reporter of “Speed Sport Live From”.

Myrehn and Fish, a former class winner in the Rolex 24 at Daytona and Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, will anchor SRO America’s coverage across its global streaming and TV platforms for its 32nd season of competition.

Broadcast partner CBS Sports Network will continue to provide coverage for all race weekends, including live broadcasts of Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS.

The first broadcast will air on Sunday at 4 p.m. ET featuring a recap of Race 1 and live coverage of Race 2.

CBSSN will air tape-delayed highlights of GT America powered by AWS, Pirelli GT4 America and TC America powered by Skip Barber, meanwhile.

In addition to U.S. cable TV, races will be streamed live on SRO’s GT World YouTube page, with coverage also on SiriusXM Satellite Radio channel 382 and channel 992 on the SiriusXM app.
