Toyota GR Cup North America is set for its debut at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta this weekend, as the SRO America-run single-make series returns to action for the first time in nearly two months.
A total of 28 cars are entered for Rounds 7 and 8 of the season.
Among the notable changes since the last round at Circuit of The Americas on April 24-26 is the debut of Robert Mosteller in the No. 24 Skip Barber Racing Toyota GR 86 Cup car and return of Zach Hollingshead in his No. 3 entry after contesting the season opener in Arlington.
Of note, Jenson Sofronas is not listed on the entry list.
Spike Kohlbecker will be looking to extend his championship lead, following a runner-up finish and win at COTA, which saw a return to form by Jeremy Fletcher, who has regained second in the standings.
Fletcher, however, trails the TechSport driver by 53 points, with Max Schweid third in the standings, two points ahead Will Robusto of RVA Graphics Motorsports by Speed Syndicate.
GR Cup drivers will get their first taste of Road Atlanta on Thursday with two test sessions, followed by a pair of practice sessions on Friday. Qualifying is scheduled for Saturday morning, followed by Race 1 at 4:25 p.m. EST and Race 2 on Sunday at 1:10 p.m. EST.
Both 45-minute sprint races will be streamed live on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel as well as on GRCup.com.
