Robusto Paces GR Cup Practice at Barber

Will Robusto ended the day on the top of the combined timesheets in Toyota GR Cup North America practice in preparation for this weekend’s pair of races at Barber Motorsports Park.

The RVA Graphics by Speed Syndicate driver took his No. 2 Toyota GR 86 Cup car to a best lap of 1:36.930 in Friday morning’s opening session to outpace points leader Spike Kohlbecker by 0.201 seconds.

The top seven times all came in the cooler morning session, with drivers finding little room for improvement on Friday afternoon.

Kohlbecker’s best lap in the No. 22 TechSport Racing entry edged out title rival Jeremy Fletcher by 0.258 seconds.

Parker DeLong, who is again pulling double duty between GR Cup and Pirelli GT4 America competition, was fourth on the time sheets, with a lap time that was a mere 0.001 seconds slower than Fletcher.

Speed Syndicate teammates Garrett Manes and Max Schweid completed the top-five.

Fletcher, meanwhile, set the quickest time, a 1:37.564 lap, in the second 30-minute session, which also ran without any major incidents.
