Adam Adelson said he and co-driver Elliott Skeer are looking to “capitalize” on the Porsche 911 GT3 R’s strengths at Sebring International Raceway as the duo sets their sights on the Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS Pro-Am title.

The Wright Motorsports drivers head into this weekend’s penultimate round of the season second in the championship race, 17 points behind CrowdStrike by Riley’s Colin Braun and George Kurtz.

As was the plan at Road America, Wright had opted to again utilize the previous generation Type-991.2 Porsche for the No. 120 entry this weekend, despite having the latest-gen Type-992, which RS1 utilizes, in its arsenal.

Adelson will drive the new-for-2023 Porsche in the pair of GT America powered by AWS races this weekend.

“The combination of Sebring and a GT3 R is one that has excited me since the start of the year,” said Adelson.

“I know that Sebring is a good track for 911s, and we need to capitalize on that to try and make up some ground in the championship.

“Over the last few races that Elliott and I have had, we’ve been driving at the top of our game, and with the best team in the paddock I know that we’re ready to take on whatever challenges get thrown our way this weekend.”

Adelson and Skeer have four class wins on the season, compared to their chief championship rival, CrowdStrike by Riley’s five.

“This has been a highlighted weekend for me all season,” Skeer said of coming to the 3.7-mile Florida airfield circuit.

“To now be comfortable in GT3 cars and be able to push around a track like Sebring is a special feeling.

“I feel like both Adam and myself have taken steps forward in our driving recently and I cannot wait to see how that evolves over this very important weekend.

“While the last few weekends have not been perfect, our execution of what we control has been spot-on, and can only continue doing so into the Sunset (bend).”
