Agostini Quickest in Final COTA Practice

Riccardo Agostini was quickest in final practice prior to qualifying for Sunday’s second round of the GT World Challenge America powered by AWS season at Circuit of The Americas.

The Italian driver, aboard the No. 18 Triarsi Competizione Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo, reeled off a best lap of 2:05.219 to outpace the No. 242 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo of Thomas Merrill by 0.161 seconds.

Frederik Schandorff was third quickest overall, and fastest in the Pro class, in the No. 12 AF Corse Ferrari, ahead of the No. 32 GMG Racing Porsche of Tom Sargent and No. 34 JMF Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Michai Stephens, which completed the overall top-five.

The No. 163 AF Corse Ferrari of Ozz Negri continued to lead the way in the Am class, which features a pair of entires this weekend.

No major incidents were reported in the 30-minute session, which ran without any red flags.

Next up for GTWC America competitors is qualifying, which is set for Sunday at 8:45 a.m. CST with live coverage on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel.
