AKKA-ASP Confirms Indy 8H Entry Featuring Marciello, Fraga

French squad enters Indianapolis 8 Hour with single Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo…

Team AKKA-ASP has announced its entry for next weekend’s Indianapolis 8 Hour, with the French squad set to be one of two AMG performance teams in the Intercontinental GT Challenge powered by Pirelli round.

Mercedes-AMG factory drivers Raffaele Marciello and Felipe Fraga will be joined by reigning Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS overall champion Timur Boguslavskiy at the wheel of the No. 89 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.

It will mark the Jerome Policand-led team’s debut at Indianapolis Motor Speedway after previously contesting the California 8 Hours in 2018 under the SunEnergy1 Racing banner.

The GTWC Europe regulars join the previously announced Craft-Bamboo Racing effort as part of Mercedes-AMG’s factory-supported effort for the second round of the IGTC season, which is expected to feature a 40-plus car grid.

The German manufacturer currently sits fourth in the title race after a disappointing season-opener at the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa.

This year’s three-round global GT3 championship concludes with the Kyalami 9 Hour in December.
