Jade Buford led the way in opening GTS Sprint practice for this weekend’s Pirelli World Challenge season finale at Watkins Glen.

Buford, in a freshly pink-liveried No. 55 PF Racing Ford Mustang GT4, reeled off a best lap of 1:56.748 to edge out championship leader James Sofronas by 0.191 seconds.

Sofronas, in the No. 14 GMG Racing Audi R8 LMS GT4, was just marginally quicker than the No. 1 Blackdog Speed Shop Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R of Lawson Aschenbach in third, following an extensive rebuild to the car since the last round at Utah Motorsport Complex.

The No. 99 JCR Maserati GT4 of Jeff Courtney was fourth quickest and best of the GTSA competitors, with Mike Hedlund completing the top-five in the No. 45 Flying Lizard Motorsports Audi.

No major incidents were reported during the 50-minute session.

The second and final GTS practice session of the day is on tap for 5:10 p.m. EDT.
