Ryan Dalziel put up the quickest time in a red flag-interrupted second Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS practice for lightning in the area at Virginia International Raceway.

The Scot laid down a 1:44.729 lap time in the No. 33 Triarsi Competizione Ferrari 296 GT3 just moments until the red came out with 12 minutes completed in the session. The session did not restart until seven minutes to go, but on a wet track due to a downpour during the stoppage.

Only a handful of cars ventured out onto the 3.27-mile circuit following the resumption.

Dalziel’s time was 1.356 seconds clear of the No. 04 CrowdStrike by Riley Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Colin Braun, with Adam Adelson third quickest with a 1:46.327 lap in the No. 120 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R, which ended up quickest of the day thanks to co-driver Elliott Skeer’s lap time in the morning.

The No. 08 DXDT Mercedes and No. 38 ST Racing BMW M4 GT3 completed the top-five in the second session.

Qualifying is set to begin at 9 a.m. ET on Saturday, followed by Race 1 of the weekend at 3:10 p.m., both of which will be streamed live on SRO’s GT World YouTube page.
