TRG-AMR North America has announced the first signing of its multi-car Pirelli World Challenge program, with Derek DeBoer set to drive one of its Aston Martin Vantage GT4s in the GTS class next year.
The longtime GRAND-AM driver, who made his World Challenge debut last year at Sonoma, will pilot the No. 09 Black Rider Racing Group-backed entry in the entire sprint race championship.
“I couldn’t be more excited about this opportunity to be joining the best team and the best race series for a full campaign in 2015,” Deboer said.
“I get to look forward to a full season in the amazing No. 09 Aston Martin with nothing to distract me, laser-focused on bringing home great results for the team and our partners.”
TRG-AMR CEO Kevin Buckler added: “This is a fantastic opportunity for everybody and we are so proud to welcome my friends Derek and Shane with the Black Rider Racing Group to our team for their first season-long deal.
“Sports car racing is growing like never before. We are really excited to see where this season will take us.”
Buckler said he plans to field multiple Vantage GT4 entries in World Challenge next year, along with the possibility of GT3 cars as well.
