Foley Fastest in Second Practice at COTA

Robby Foley was quickest in Friday’s second and final Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS practice session of the day at Circuit of The Americas, leading the way for Turner Motorsport.

Foley reeled off a best time of 2:04.542 early in the 60-minute session in the No. 29 BMW M4 GT3 he shares with Justin Rothberg.

It was 0.162 seconds quicker than second-placed Luca Mars in the Pro class-leading No. 93 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX GT3 Evo22.

Foley’s time was three-tenths slower than Philip Ellis’ pace-setting time from the morning session in his No. 91 Regular Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.

Ellis ended up third quickest overall in the warmer afternoon session, ahead of Andy Lee in the No. 8 Flying Lizard Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo in fourth and the Tom Sargent-driven No. 32 GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R, which completed the top-five overall.

Neil Verhagen was sixth in the No. 38 ST Racing BMW M4 GT3, ahead of Colin Braun’s No. 04 CrowdStrike by Riley Mercedes-AMG and the No. 120 Wright Motorsports Porsche of Elliott Skeer in eighth.

The No. 63 DDXT Racing Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R was ninth, followed by the No. 85 RS1 Porsche, which completed the top-ten.

Qualifying is set to get underway at 9 a.m. CDT with live coverage on SRO’s GT World YouTube page.
