Patrick Long has scored a weekend sweep for himself and Wright Motorsports, having claimed another dominant victory in Sunday’s Pirelli World Challenge round at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

Long edged out the No. 33 Always Evolving Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 of James Davison by 1.571 seconds for his third win of the year and second straight with the John Wright-led team.

He also provisionally takes over the points lead in GT, following a significant points swing due to poor results for both championship-leading Cadillac ATS-V.Rs.

As was the case on Saturday, Long led from flag-to-flag, but with Sunday’s race starting under the safety car due to wet track conditions. The track, however, quickly dried out.

The No. 87 Bentley Team Absolute Bentley Continental GT3 of Andrew Palmer completed the podium in third, after slipping back from its front-row start in the early stages.

Kyle Marcelli in the No. 2 CRP Racing Audi R8 LMS ultra and the Bryan Heitkotter-driven No. 05 Always Evolving Nissan completed the top-five overall and in the GT class.

A heavy crash by Ryan Eversley in the No. 43 RealTime Racing Acura TLX GT and Adderly Fong’s No. 88 Absolute Bentley on Lap 3 resulted in a 23-minute full-course caution for cleanup.

It was the only safety car period of the 50-minute race.

The pair of Cadillacs broke into the top-10 for the first time this weekend, with Michael Cooper finishing 8th and Johnny O’Connell in 10th.

As was the case in GT, Wright’s Michael Schein swept the weekend in GTA, having taken his No. 16 Porsche 911 GT3 R to a a commanding 14-second victory.

The class championship-leading No. 07 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari 458 Italia of Martin Fuentes finished second after an intense battle with Frankie Montecalvo in the No. 66 DIME Racing Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3.

Montecalvo, who started from the rear of the 24-car field after missing Saturday’s action due to his sister’s wedding, completed the GTA podium in third.

After losing out on the class win on Saturday due to a tire puncture, Chris Green broke through for his first PWC victory in GT Cup.

Green took his No. 09 Pfaff Automotive Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car to a 11-second victory over new championship leader Alex Udell in the No. 17 GMG Racing Porsche.

Sloan Urry, who again battled a broken wrist this weekend, completed the class podium in third.

Despite some drops of rain and a damp track in the early stages, the rain held off during the race.

RESULTS: Race 2
