Daniel Morad set the fastest time in the final GT World Challenge America powered by AWS practice session at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta prior to qualifying later this afternoon.

The Canadian’s No. 9 TR3 Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo stopped the clocks at 1:20.375 to outpace first practice pacesetter Frederik Schandorff’s No. 12 AF Corse Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo by 0.214 seconds.

However, Morad’s benchmark time proved slower than the seven fastest efforts clocked in second practice, which was headed by Tom Sargent’s No. 32 GMG Racing Porsche Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo in a time of 1:19.493.

Thomas Merrill set the third fastest time in third practice aboard the No. 242 Wright Motorsports Porsche, while Philip Ellis took fourth on his return to the championship aboard the No. 27 JMF Motorsports Mercedes-AMG.

Ellis had been just 0.101 seconds off Sargent’s pace in second practice, making a swift adaptation to the car vacated by Lorcan Hanafin who is racing at the Le Mans 24 Hours this weekend.

Sargent was bumped back to fifth in third practice by Ellis’s late improvement, but slotted in ahead of Aaron Telitz in the No. 69 Archangel Motorsports McLaren 720S GT3 Evo.

The No. 88 Kellymoss Porsche was unable to complete any laps after a technical problem caused Loek Hartog to pull off and bring out a red flag in second practice, while the No. 6 Dollahite Racing Ford Mustang GT3 EVO of Cameron Lawrence was also unable to log any laps after causing a red flag early in the 30-minute session.

Qualifying for GTWC America is scheduled to begin at 5:25 p.m. EST with live coverage on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel.
