Frederik Schandorff and Matias Perez Companc ended the run of JMF Motorsports pole positions in GT World Challenge America powered by AWS as they set the pace in qualifying at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

The duo’s No. 12 AF Corse Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo produced the fastest aggregate times across the two sessions on Saturday to secure the top spot by 0.091 seconds, denying Mikael Grenier and Michai Stephens a fourth consecutive pole of the season.

Stephens in the No. 34 JMF Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo narrowly edged Q1 with a benchmark time of 1:20.501, which put him 0.012 seconds ahead of Perez-Companc.

But Schandorff turned it around and lapped 0.193 seconds faster than Grenier in Q2, which was headed by Robby Foley’s No. 29 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 EVO on a blistering 1:19.347.

Foley and Justin Rothberg’s efforts secured them third position on the grid, ahead of Aaron Telitz and Todd Coleman’s No. 69 Archangel Motorsports McLaren 720S GT3 Evo.

Coleman was the fastest of the Pro-Am entries in Q1 and Telitz third overall in Q2, just ahead of Schandorff, to push the duo onto row two.

Despite only managing the 13th fastest time in Q2, the Dollahite Racing Ford Mustang GT3 EVO of Cameron Lawrence and Alex Sedgwick will line up fifth after Lawrence’s strong run to third in Q1, while third practice pace-setter Daniel Morad and Brayton Williams start sixth in their No. 9 TR3 Racing Mercedes-AMG.

Zachary Vanier and Michael McCann Jr’s McCann Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo lines up seventh in the best of the Weissach contingent, while the second fastest Q2 time from championship returnee Philip Ellis propelled the No. 27 JMF Mercedes-AMG he shared with Jason Daskalos to eighth in the overall order.

The sole Am class entry of Jay Schreibman and his stand-in co-driver Benny Simonsen, filling in for the injured Ozz Negri, complete the 19-car grid.

The three-hour feature race is set to get underway at 2:30 p.m. EST with live coverage on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel.
