A late flier from Peter Kox has RealTime Racing on the provisional pole for the inaugural Intercontinental GT Challenge California 8 Hours at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

The Dutchman turned in a lap of 1:24.483 seconds in his No. 93 Acura NSX GT3, narrowly edging Jeroen Bleekemolen in the No. 54 Black Swan Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R by just 0.081 for the top spot.

As part of a GT3 Pro-Am class lineup, Bleekemolen’s effort was good enough to snag the provisional class pole position.

The No. 58 Porsche Motorsport North America by Wright Motorsports Porsche of Patrick Long, Joerg Bergmeister, and Romain Dumas posted the third-fastest overall time, followed by the No. 17 GMG Racing Porsche and No. 77 Calvert Dynamics / GMG Racing Porsche.

The other class leaders were the No. 193 MARC Cars Australia Marc Mazda 3 V8 in the Invitational category and the No. 07 TRG Aston Martin GT4.

The session ended a few minutes early when Thomas Merril made contact with the wall in Turn 9, bringing out the red flag.

The cars with the top 15 overall times advance to Super Pole qualifying this afternoon at 1:40 p.m. PT.
