Jan Heylen posted the quickest times in both Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS practice sessions at Watkins Glen International, taking his Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R to the top of the time sheets.

Heylen’s 1:44.995 lap time in Friday’s second practice was marginally slower than the Belgian’s 1:44.817 that he reeled off in the morning in the Pro-Am class car he shares with Fred Poordad.

The No. 3 K-PAX Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo closed the gap in the afternoon, thanks to Andrea Caldarelli’s 1:45.127 that was only 0.132 seconds slower than Heylen’s time from the second session.

Robby Foley was third quickest overall and second in Pro in the No. 96 Turner Motorsport BMW M6 GT3, meanwhile, followed by the No. 93 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX GT3 Evo of Jacob Abel, which was second quickest in Pro-Am.

The No. 63 DXDT Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Ryan Dalziel completed the top-five, with Giacomo Altoe sixth in the No. 9 TR3 Racing Lamborghini.

TR3’s sister No. 10 Lamborghini again did not set a time in the 60-minute session after an incident in the Bronze test session that has led to an engine swap after getting hit by a GT4 car.

Conrad Grunwald put the No. 61 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020 11th overall on the time sheets as the leading Am class competitor once again.

A total of 14 cars turned laps in both the morning and afternoon sessions with no major incidents reported.

Qualifying for GTWC America competitors gets underway Saturday at 8:50 a.m. ET.
