B-Quik Absolute Racing has announced it will enter this weekend’s Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia Powered by AWS round at Buriram on a one-off basis.

The Thai-flagged outfit’s No. 26 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II will be shared by team founder Henk Kiks and Rodney Jane, and will fight for Am class honors.

It follows the team’s appearance in last weekend’s opening round of the Thailand Super Series at the same track, where it took victory in three of the four races.

Kiks said: “We’re just come off the back of a good weekend here in Buriram with TSS The Super Series, so the team is right up to speed, race sharp, we are right in the zone and pretty excited to join Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia.

“The series is a showcase of skill and professionalism like no other, so it’s great to be able to race with these guys. It will be the first time I’ve raced with Rodney and that’s pretty exciting and going to be a lot of fun.

“A great guy and a friend, I’m kind of ticking off some boxes really here sharing a car with him for the first time. Let’s see what we can get out of this, we for sure want to be on the Am podium.”

A total of 33 cars are entered for this weekend’s Fanatec GT Asia round at Buriram, representing no change from last month’s season opener at Sepang.

The Macau-flagged Elegant Racing Team, which entered a Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo for Andre Couto and Liu Lik Ka at Sepang, has dropped off the entry list.

Several teams have revised driver lineups for Buriram, including factory Porsche racer Patrick Pilet making his first outing for Origine Motorsport, replacing Laurin Heinrich.

Both Craft-Bamboo Racing Mercedes-AMGs have different factory drivers compared with the Sepang opener, with Maro Engel and Maximilian Goetz taking over from Daniel Morad and Fabian Schiller respectively.

Luca Stolz is also making his first appearance of the season in Triple Eight JMR’s Mercedes-AMG in place of Jordan Love.

In the Am class, Massimiliano Wiser replaces Christian Colombo as David Tjiptobiantoro’s partner aboard the Garage 75 Ferrari 296 GT3.

Official practice at Buriram commences on Friday, ahead of the opening race on Saturday at 3 p.m. local time (4 a.m. EDT). A second race on Sunday at 10:45 a.m. local time (Saturday 11:45 p.m. EDT) rounds out the weekend’s action.
