Chinese outfit Harmony Racing has announced plans to contest the full Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia Powered by AWS season with its new Ferrari 296 GT3.

Harmony made a one-off outing in last year’s Sepang season finale with the previous generation Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo, before taking delivery of its 296 ahead of the FIA GT World Cup at Macau.

The team also raced in last weekend’s Sepang 12 Hours, albeit with the old 488, presenting its plans to tackle the full six-round Fanatec GT Asia season with backing from German oil and lubricants company ROWE.

Silver-rated Chinese pair Liang Jiatong and Luo Kailuo will share driving duties, having both been part of the team’s lineup in Sepang.

Liang, also known by his nickname Alex, raced in SUPER GT last season with the Pacific Racing Mercedes GT300 team, and also has experience in categories such as International GT Open and Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia.

Luo meanwhile has spent the past two seasons racing in Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, also making a one-off outing in the Porsche Supercup round at Monza last year.

The 2024 Fanatec GT Asia season is set to kick off at Sepang on April 19-21.
