Attempto Racing will bring its Porsche 911 GT3 R back to the Blancpain GT Series for the penultimate Sprint Cup round at the Hungaroring on Aug. 26-27.
The team has replaced its No. 67 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 with the Porsche, as well as having another driver lineup change in the No. 66 entry, which remains as a Lamborghini.
It will be the first time a Porsche has been on the grid in a Sprint Cup round since the Team a-workx entry which was pulled following the Nürburgring race in July last year.
Kevin Estre and Klaus Bachler will pilot the car, with the Frenchman coming off a strong fourth-place finish in the KÜS Team75 Bernhard Porsche at the Total 24 Hours of Spa.
The reveal of the car swap was made with the release of the provisional entry list for the Hungarian round, which will feature 32 cars.
ENTRY LIST: Hungaroring
Few other changes have been made since the last Sprint Cup race at Zolder, although the No. 888 Kessel Racing Ferrari 488 GT3 of David Perel and Stephen Earle is absent from the list, despite Perel currently leading the Blancpain GT Series Am Cup standings.
With the shake-up at Attempto, Max van Splunteren and Christopher Zoechling will drive the No. 66 Lamborghini, while Luca Filipi has replaced Gustavo Yacaman in the Orange 1 Team Lazarus car.
The Colombian will be otherwise occupied in a Graff Oreca 07 Nissan competing in the European Le Mans Series round on the same weekend.
Vince Abril leads the overall drivers’ standings after a second-place finish at Spa, although Mirko Bortolotti and Christian Engelhart are just three points behind, while their Grasser Racing Team heads up the teams’ standings.
Maxi Buhk and Franck Perera are out front in the Sprint Cup standings, meanwhile, five points ahead of Markus Winkelhock and Will Stevens.
On-track running at the Hungaroring will start on Friday, Aug. 25, with the Qualifying Race at 3:50 p.m. local time on Saturday and Main Race at 2:20 p.m. on Sunday.
