Rinaldi Racing 1-2 in Monza Free Practice

The top four positions in the 90-minute BES Free Practice session at Monza were locked out by Ferrari, with Rinaldi Racing claiming the two fastest times.

Norbert Siedler put in a 1:47.566 early in the session with his green No. 333 Ferrari 458 Italia, improving on last year’s pole by 0.037s.

Kaffer, Siedler’s teammate went second fastest (+0.222s), with the following two positions also being taken up by 458s.

The first non-Ferrari and non-Pro Am car was the No. 1 WRT Audi of Laurens Vanthoor in fifth (+0.679s).

All other Pro Cup favorites had a low key session and ended up in the middle of the pack.

The session was cut short a couple of minutes from the end, as the No. 0 BMW Team Brasil Z4 GT3 made an excursion into the gravel trap.

Organizers tested the new Full Course Yellow system several times, with cars having to keep to a maximum speed of 80km/h.
