The Zolder circuit in Belgium was a sweltering 35 degrees C (95 degrees F) today for the two Blancpain Sprint Series Free Practice sessions, with a Ferrari taking the top spot in the end.

Rinaldi Racing driver Norbert Siedler was the fastest driver on Friday, the Austrian driver setting the fastest lap in Free Practice 2.

Siedler, driving the No. 333 Ferrari 458 Italia GT3, was the only driver to get into the 1:30’s, lapping the four-kilometer circuit in 1:30.920.

The Austrian’s teammate, German racing driver Marco Seefried, was second fastest in Free Practice 1, 0.164 seconds behind the No. 2 Belgian Audi Club Team WRT Audi R8 LMS ultra of Christopher Mies (1:31.947).

GT Russian Team’s Marko Asmer set the second fastest time of the day, 0.190 seconds. The Estonian outpaced local driver Laurens Vanthoor, with Vanthoor’s teammate Frank Stippler taking fourth place.

The No. 1 Belgian Audi Club Team WRT Audi R8 LMS ultra will race in a new livery this weekend, the special livery being the third livery for Vanthoor and Frijns in as many Blancpain Sprint Series rounds.

French driver Tom Dillmann replaces Olivier Lombard in the No. 83 Bentley Team HTP Bentley Continental GT3. Nicolas Armindo will race the No. 54 Attempto Racing McLaren 650S GT3.
