Maxi Buhk is set to race a HTP Motorsport Mercedes AMG GT3 in the Blancpain GT Series this season, despite being announced by Bentley Motorsport as part of its 2016 lineup late last year.
The 23-year-old German, who won all his GT titles with HTP Motorsport and its predecessors, will be part of a lineup that is almost completely made up of drivers with previous HTP experience.
Buhk, the reigning Blancpain Sprint Cup champion, will be rejoined at HTP by Austria’s Dominik Baumann, with whom he won the 2012 FIA GT3 European Championship. Back then the pair competed in a Heico Motorsport-entered Mercedes SLS AMG GT3.
Last week Baumann and Buhk tested the new Mercedes, together with Petronas-backed Malaysian driver Jazeman Jaafar.
Clemens Schmid and Jules Szymkowiak are also set to compete for HTP Motorsport this season, having already raced for the team in last year’s ADAC GT Maters and Blancpain Sprint Series respectively.
Dutch driver Indy Dontje, who drove for Rowe Racing and GT Russian Team last season, is also set to join HTP Motorsport in the Blancpain Series.
