GP Extreme will run new Porsche 911 GT3 Rs in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup and 24H GT Series next year through its GPX Racing arm.

The Dubai-based team, which has previously competed with the Renault R.S. 01, will take delivery of its two new Porsche GT3s in late February.

It will run one car in the Blancpain GT Endurance Cup, competing in the Silver Cup, and another in the 24H GT Series Championship of the Continents.

The GP Extreme organization is now divided into several entities, including the GPX Racing race team, GPX Academy driver development program, GPX Experience driving experiences, GPX Historic, GPX Collection and GPX Store.

“GPX Racing is setting up a program with a real approach to working for the long-term”, team manager Pierre-Brice Mena told Endurance-Info.

“The final goal is to go to the 24 Hours of Le Mans by 2022. Porsche is present in GTE and to put a foot in with them in GT3 allows us to create links.

“We’re starting from scratch with a new team, a new car and a new program. We really want to build something that should bring GPX Racing to Le Mans.”

GPX ran a Porsche 911 GT3 R in last weekend’s Gulf 12 Hours, with Roald Goethe,  Stuart Hall, Fred Fatien and Jordan Grogor at the wheel.

It will compete with the same car again in next month’s Hankook 24 Hours of Dubai before taking delivery of its new cars in time for the start of the European season.

GPX becomes that latest team to commit to running Porsche’s new GT3 car in European Blancpain GT competition, with an increased presence from the German manufacturer expected next season.

Dinamic Motorsport and Herberth Motorsport have revealed plans in recent weeks, while the manufacturer itself has pledged two full-factory lineups in other cars.
