IGTC Points-Scoring Entries Nominated for 24H Spa

All eight registered Intercontinental GT Challenge powered by Pirelli manufacturers have nominated cars to score points in the Total 24 Hours of Spa following the reveal of the race’s entry list on Tuesday.

As per IGTC regulations, each brand’s two best-placed cars will pick up points towards the championship, although manufacturers are permitted to nominate more than two cars.

A total of 28 of the race’s 72 entries have been nominated to compete for IGTC honors, more than in any previous IGTC race.

Audi has chosen a pair of WRT entries along with one each from Sainteloc and Montaplast by Land Motorsport, as revealed when the German manufacturer announced its lineups on Monday.

The pair of full-season ROWE Racing entries will compete for Porsche, including the brand’s year-round IGTC driver crews, along with one car each from KÜS Team75 Bernhard and GPX Racing.

Mercedes-AMG is relying one single-car entries from four of its lead customer teams, with Black Falcon, Strakka Racing, GruppeM and AKKA ASP all fielding one car in the IGTC ranks.

Current IGTC drivers’ championship leaders Maxi Buhk, Maxi Goetz and Raffaele Marciello are split, with the Germans at GruppeM and Marciello in his usual AKKA ASP car.

All three of the drivers who won the GTE-Pro class in last month’s 24 Hours of Le Mans are in nominated cars for Ferrari, with Alessandro Pier Guidi and James Calado in a new AF Corse entry and Daniel Serra at HubAuto Corsa. 

Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup points leaders Mikhail Aleshin, Miguel Molina and Davide Rigon will also compete in the nominated SMP Racing Ferrari, while another Pro-Am AF Corse car is also registered.

BMW’s two full-season IGTC teams – Walkenhorst Motorsport and Team Schnitzer – will score points along with Am cars from Walkenhorst and Boutsen Ginion.

Bentley, meanwhile, has registered all four of its M-Sport-run Continental GT3s, with two coming from the Endurance Cup and two from IGTC.

Honda and Nissan will each rely on two-car entries, with a pair of KCMG Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3s in the Pro class and the Honda Team Motul NSX GT3 joined by the Silver Cup-entered Jenson Team Rocket RJN car.

Mercedes-AMG leads the standings after two rounds, with 59 points to second-placed Porsche’s 40. Ferrari is third on 29 after winning March’s California 8 Hours.
