Iron Lynx has confirmed its driver lineups for a three-car Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup program with Lamborghini this year.

The Italian squad, which sealed the 2021 title with Ferrari, is embarking on its first season with Lamborghini after switching manufacturers during the off-season.

The headlining No. 63 entry for the Endurance Cup will feature Lamborghini Squadra Corse factory aces Mirko Bortolotti, Andrea Caldarelli and Jordan Pepper.

Reigning GTWC America champion Caldarelli is returning to the five-round series after only racing at the 24 Hours of Spa last season, while Pepper is set for his first full-time program in Endurance since 2020 with Bentley.

Bortolotti, who won the Endurance Cup title with Caldarelli in 2017, drove for Emil Frey Racing last season but is now with Iron Lynx after the former team switched to Ferrari.

Iron Lynx, which raced the Lamborghini for the first time in January’s Rolex 24 at Daytona, is also fielding its No. 83 in the Bronze Cup class and the No. 19 in Gold Cup.

The No. 83 features the Iron Dames trio of Rahel Frey, Michelle Gatting and Sarah Bovy, who won the Gold category at Spa last year alongside Doriane Pin.

Recently-promoted Lamborghini factory driver and reigning International GT Open champion Leonardo Pulcini is among the drivers in the teammate No. 19 crew.

The Italian will share the wheel with DTM competitor Rolf Ineichen and GTWC America race winner Michele Beretta.

“This is the third year that Iron Lynx is taking part in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup, and we are thrilled to be bringing three cars to the grid,” said team principal Andrea Piccini.

“We are excited to return with Lamborghini to take on one of the most competitive GT championships.

“We have very nice memories from our previous seasons at the Fanatec GTWC and we are really looking forward to the official test days starting tomorrow.”

Iron Lynx, which recently tested its Lamborghinis at Barcelona, is the manufacturer’s second team to confirm a Pro entry for the approaching Endurance Cup season.

After winning back-to-back GTWC America titles, K-PAX Racing is returning to Europe with a top-category entry for Marco Mapelli, Franck Perera and Sandy Mitchell.

“Lamborghini Squadra Corse is thrilled to support the Iron Lynx Team and the Iron Dames car in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup as well,” said Giorgio Sanna, head of motorsport at Lamborghini.

“All three Huracan GT3 EVO2s boast high-profile crews aiming for ambitious results.”
