Daniel Juncadella will contest the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa with GruppeM Racing amidst a minor reshuffling of Mercedes-AMG factory drivers for the Belgian endurance classic.

The reigning Intercontinental GT Challenge by Pirelli drivers champion will team alongside Maro Engel and Mikael Grenier aboard the No. 999 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.

The Mann Filter-liveried car is one of four cars entered in the top class for the event as Mercedes-AMG defends its victory at Spa.

Juncadella was part of last year’s winning crew alongside Jules Gounon and Raffaele Marciello, but now replaces the Swiss driver at GruppeM as Marciello moves over to Akkodis ASP instead.

Marciello competed in the Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour and Kyalami 9 Hour with GruppeM, but will drive the No. 88 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo alongside Gounon and Timur Boguslavskiy.

The trio recently took victory in the Paul Ricard 1000km, leading a Mercedes 1-2. The lineup for ASP’s second car remains unchanged as Maximilian Goetz teams up with Lorenzo Ferrari and Thomas Drouet.

As previously reported by Sportscar365, Lucas Auer joins the lineup for the No. 777 Mercedes-AMG Team Al Manar Racing entry, teaming with Fabian Schiller and Luca Stolz to replace the GruppeM tied Maro Engel.

Catsburg Joins SunEnergy1 in Bronze Cup

SunEnergy1 Racing has recruited recent 24 Hours of Le Mans class winner Nicky Catsburg to be part of its lineup in Bronze Cup.

The Dutchman, who also took an overall victory in the Nürburgring 24 earlier this year, will share the No. 75 Mercedes-AMG with team owner Kenny Habul, Martin Konrad and Repco Supercars Championship ace Chaz Mostert.

It marks the second time this season Catsburg will race a Mercedes-AMG in an IGTC round after he joined Craft-Bamboo Racing at Bathurst.

As previously reported, Ian James joins George Kurtz, Felipe Fraga and Colin Braun aboard the No. 4 CrowdStrike by Riley entry in Pro-Am Cup.
