Maxime Martin will start the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Sprint Cup decider at Zandvoort from pole position after Giacomo Altoe and Benjamin Goethe both received grid penalties post-qualifying.

Martin, who shares the No. 46 Team WRT BMW M4 GT3 with Valentino Rossi, initially qualified third behind the No. 14 Emil Frey Racing Ferrari 296 GT3 and the No. 159 Garage 59 McLaren 720S GT3 Evo for this afternoon’s 60-minute contest.

However, both Altoe and Goethe were both found to have failed to slow sufficiently for yellow flags during the session, resulting in a three-place grid drop for both cars.

The result promotes WRT’s No. 30 BMW of Calan Williams and Niklas Kruetten, which initially qualified fourth, to second place, creating an all-WRT front row for the final race of the season.

Altoe and Konsta Lappalainen will instead start fourth, with Goethe and Nicolai Kjaergaard fifth.

As a result, the No. 77 Haupt Racing Team Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Frank Bird and Jordan Love is promoted to third place.
