Paul Motorsport will make its Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Sprint Cup debut in the third round of the season at Hockenheim this weekend.
The German squad is fielding a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 for Maximilian Paul and Simon Connor Primm who contested last month’s ADAC GT Masters round at the Nürburgring together.
Paul also competes in International GT Open and has won two races so far this season with the Oregon Team Lamborghini outfit.
The addition of Paul Motorsport’s Lamborghini for Hockenheim forms part of a 41-car provisional entry list for the Sprint Cup’s first visit to the German circuit.
The previous round at Misano attracted a series record 42 cars but two of those – Attempto Racing’s No. 999 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II and the Imperiale Racing Lamborghini – were one-off entries.
Driver changes for Hockenheim include ex-DTM racer Rolf Ineichen returning to the No. 163 Vincenzo Sospiri Racing Lamborghini after being replaced by Mattia Michelotto last time out.
Stephane Denoual, who drove in Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup last year, is set for his Sprint Cup debut with CLRT after representing the Porsche squad in the Paul Ricard 1000km.
Additionally, Lamborghini outfit GSM has assembled its third different Silver Cup driver pairing of the season as Italians Matteo Desideri and Federico Scionti join for their first GTWC Europe appearances.
Both Desideri and Scionti, who raced against the likes of Antonio Felix da Costa and Jean-Eric Vergne in Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0, competed in the Italian Mitjet Trophy series last year.
Akkod ASP’s Raffaele Marciello and Timur Boguslavskiy lead the Sprint Cup standings by 16.5 points from both of Team WRT’s Pro driver pairings including Valentino Rossi and Maxime Martin who won the second race at Misano.
