Lamborghini factory drivers Jordan Pepper and Franck Perera will team up in Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Sprint Cup driving for Vincenzo Sospiri Racing.

The Italian squad, which has won titles in Italian GT, International GT Open and Lamborghini Super Trofeo, is making its debut in the SRO Motorsports Group series with a trio of Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2s.

Its headlining entry is the Pro car for Pepper and Perera, which will race under the No. 60 banner in recognition of Lamborghini’s 60th anniversary this year.

The other cars will race in the Silver Cup class. Rolf Ineichen and reigning Italian GT Endurance champion Yuki Nemoto form one pairing, along with Baptiste Moulin and Marcus Paverud who shared a VSR entry in last year’s GTWC Europe Endurance Cup.

“I really want to thank Giorgio Sanna and the Lamborghini Squadra Corse family for allowing us to take the next step in our long and fruitful relationship,” said VSR team boss Vincenzo Sospiri.

“We are all thrilled to have Jordan, Franck and Rolf with us this year and very happy to welcome back our drivers Yuki, Baptiste and Marcus.

“Fanatec GT World [Challenge] is the most competitive GT Championship there is and I’m very proud to have my cars on the grid with the support of Lamborghini Squadra Corse.”

Pepper, who joined Lamborghini’s factory roster this year, is set to make his Sprint Cup debut while Perera is set for his first series appearance since 2018.

Both drivers are set to do the full ten-round GTWC Europe schedule but they will contest the Endurance Cup in different Lamborghinis.

Pepper is racing for Iron Lynx in the enduros while Perera has been assigned to K-PAX Racing.

Lamborghini’s head of motorsport Sanna said: “In Lamborghini Squadra Corse we are very excited to race again in the GTWC sprint series with our representative team VSR that, in the last few years, has contributed in the growth of our best GT3 junior drivers.

“We are glad to support the team with Franck and Jordan who will race with the number 60 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of our company in 2023.”

VSR will run its GT3 programs, covering GTWC Europe Sprint Cup and Italian GT Sprint, in collaboration with American organization Change Racing.

The Forli-based team also plans to enter the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa although it will not continue for a second full season in the Endurance Cup.
