Ezequiel Perez Companc topped the timesheets in Free Practice 1 for the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup weekend at Brands Hatch, going over two-tenths clear in the Saturday morning session.

The Italian posted a best time of 1:24.754 in his No. 19 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 run by Grasser Racing Team.

His best time was posted during the first half of the session, reserved for Bronze and Silver-rated drivers, and Gold-rated co-driver Andrea Caldarelli was unable to match it during the second half.

Stuart Leonard was second fastest for Belgian Audi Club Team WRT, with a time 0.225 seconds down on the Lamborghini, while Mirko Bortolotti was third in the No. 63 Grasser car.

Pieter Schothorst and Nicolas Jamin completed the top five for Attempto Racing and AKKA ASP, respectively.

Callum Macleod and Ian Loggie were quickest in Pro-Am while Nico Bastian and Jack Manchester topped the Silver Cup class.

The session was red-flagged for a while after a heavy crash for Alexey Korneev in the SMP Racing by AKKA ASP Mercedes-AMG GT3.

The young Russian driver hit the barrier on the exit of Stirlings, picking up considerable damage to the car he shares with Vladimir Atoev and stopping the session for 17 minutes.

Free Practice 2 will get underway at 12:30 p.m. ahead of qualifying at 4 p.m.
