Kelvin van der Linde set the pace in Free Practice 2 at Brands Hatch on Saturday, going quickest in his Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup points-leading Attempto Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3.

The South African driver posted his best lap time of a 1:24.235 late in the session to topple the time of Frederic Vervisch, who had led for most of the session.

Vervisch’s time was good enough for second fastest in his No. 17 Belgian Audi Club Team WRT Audi, 0.293 seconds slower than the Zolder Race 2 winner.

Raffaele Marciello was third in the No. 88 AKKA ASP Mercedes-AMG GT3 while Franck Perera was fourth as the fastest of the Grasser Racing Team drivers.

The session was red-flagged to retrieve Jack Manchester’s AKKA ASP Mercedes from the gravel trap at Hawthorns but the car appeared not to have sustained any damage.

All cars apart from the SMP Racing by AKKA ASP Mercedes set lap times.

Alexey Korneev and Vladimir Atoev are expected not to take part in qualifying while repairs are carried out on their No. 35 Mercedes following Korneev’s crash in FP1.

Sainteloc Racing led the way in Pro-Am with its No. 26 Audi driven by Markus Winklehock and Nyls Stievenart while Manchester and Nico Bastian were fastest in the Silver Cup.

Qualifying is scheduled for 4 p.m. local time and can be streamed on the series’ website and GT World YouTube channel.
