David Pittard will tackle the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa at the wheel of a BMW M4 GT3 EVO for the first time this weekend after joining the Paradine Competition squad.
Pittard, who was unable to start last year’s contest after Henrique Chaves’ Superpole qualifying crash in the Walkenhorst Motorsport Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo that the Briton was due to race, had previously taken a best result of fourth at Spa in 2024.
The 2023 Nürburgring 24 winner did contest the Spa race three times at the wheel of an BMW M6 GT3, the M4’s predecessor, but has now joined Paradine’s ranks for this year when he will share the No. 991 Bronze Cup BMW with team owner Darren Leung, squad regular James Kellett and ADAC GT Masters front-runner Leyton Fourie.
Pittard is currently racing a similar car in the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Sprint Cup, in which he competes for KPX Motorsport.
The sister Paradine Silver Cup No. 992 entry will be crewed by Josh Rowledge, Jop Rappange, Christian Hahn and team newcomer Ian Aguilera, fresh from finishing fifth in the LMP2 class of the 24 Hours of Le Mans when part of CLX Motorsport’s all-teenage lineup.
Leung said he is “confident” of his team’s chances at Spa with a driver roster featuring “a good mix of talent and experience.”
“I’d like to extend a warm welcome to Leyton and Ian, who join us for the first time,” he added. “They both have a good track record and I’m sure they will be a good fit.
“David, for his part, has proven that he has what it takes to deliver in big races, which is a great asset.
“This race hasn’t been too kind to us in recent years, which only makes us more motivated to secure a good result this time around.”
Other tweaks to the 70-strong Spa entry list include European Le Mans Series racer and former FIA Formula E competitor Sergio Sette Camara making a second start.
He raced a Comtoyou Aston last year but is now part of Tresor Attempto Racing’s Bronze Cup lineup at the wheel of the No. 88 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II.
Also joining the field will be Lenny Ried, who is due to make his GT3 debut in Steller Motorsport’s Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R.
The son of Proton Competition boss Christian has been tackling the LMP3 class of the ELMS this season.
