Reiter Engineering announced Thursday plans to enter the new SRO Sports Club with multiple Gallardo Extenso R-EX cars.
The new four-round championship, featuring GT3 machinery, is reserved for gentleman drivers holding a Bronze or new Iron rating, for pilots over the age of 60.
“We expect to see at least four Reiter Gallardos in the new GT Sports Club,” said Hans Reiter. “The new series has attracted great interest among our customers, and to such an extent that we plan another two Reiter Gallardo R-EX for customer teams in 2015.”
While planning to field multiple Gallardos in the new series, Reiter has committed two of the new Extenso R-EX cars to the Sports Club.
“Because neither professionals nor semi-professionals or even upcoming young talents are permitted in the GT Sports Club, the focus of attention is now about the customers having fun while racing,” Reiter added.
“Ultimately, I expect a kind of business-to-business championship, where business men battle against business men on the finest race tracks. You could almost describe the series as the Mediterranean championship.”
